Dr Stephen Lytton

Dr Stephen Lytton is an NHS and private General Practitioner practicing in Eastbourne since 1991. He qualified from St George’s Hospital London in 1986, undertook medical training specialising in Respiratory Medicine and then General Practice Training, obtaining Membership of the Royal College of General Practitioners (MRCGP). Dr Lytton also holds diplomas in Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Medical Education & Leadership and a Batchelor of Science degree and was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of General Practice in 2012.
He believes strongly in the importance of patient focused communication as the foundation to holistic care and well-being. Areas of specialty focus on Respiratory Medicine and Pharmacology (medicines management), Palliative care and Acute Medicine, including extensive activity in Out of hours care and Casualty care with the RNLI. He is now clinical lead for the Eastbourne and Hastings Hospital’s Virtual Ward (Hospital at home) and Community Respiratory Team (RESPS). He trains doctors to become GPs and has been involved in leading and directing care for patients in Sussex for over 25 years. He has worked as an NHS GP Partner from 1991 to 2023.
Dr Lytton lives in Eastbourne with his wife and dogs, keeping fit with Pilates and cycling. His priority for spare time are his grand daughters and being on the water sailing. He has been on the crew for Eastbourne Lifeboat for 20 years and acts as Navigator as well as doctor.
